Rugged features in a slim, stylish body
The DMC-FT25 is waterproof to a depth of 7 metres and dustproof. Thanks to rubber padding and reinforced glass and carbon resins inside the camera, the DMC-FT25 features an airtight body protected against water immersion, dust and sand. It is also drop proof from a height up to 1.5 metres and freezeproof to endure temperatures as low as -10˚C.
Get creative with time lapse video technology
The DMC-FT25 incorporates Time Lapse Shot technology for even more creative panache. Once the start time, the interval and the number of pictures you want to shoot are set, the camera will do the rest. The series of images are combined in camera to produce a time lapse video which speeds up time so you can see flowers quickly blooming or a storm rolling in.
Advanced shooting mode makes the most of underwater pictures
The Red Colour Reproduction in Advanced Underwater Mode enhances the red colour which is lost in underwater shooting making your underwater pictures more natural looking. Sports, Snow and Beach and Surf Mode can also be selected easily and quickly from the menu. This camera even features a torch light that records beautiful videos in low light conditions or to use as a torch by itself.
Filter effects make panorama shots more impressive
The new Creative Panorama function with 10 filters allows you to apply effects to create a distinctive horizontal or vertical panoramic image. The DMC-FT25 also integrates popular Creative Control and Creative Retouch, featuring a total of 12 filter effects. The Creative Control lets you shoot with a filter effect while checking how it makes difference on the picture and the Creative Retouch enables applying a filter effect on the picture even after shooting in camera.
High quality wide-angle lens and dynamic HD video recording
The 16.1-megapixel DMC-FT25 features 25mm ultra wide-angle 4x optical zoom lens, which increases in power to 8x equivalent with the Intelligent Zoom function thanks to Intelligent Resolution technology. The DMC-FT25 also records dynamic HD video in 1280 x 720p at a smooth 25p in MP4 format which has high compatibility with PCs or smartphones for editing or sharing the videos on websites such as YouTube™. The DMC-FT25 incorporates dedicated video button to switch between photo and video recording quickly. Optical zoom is also available in video recording as well as Active Mode that minimises hand shake even if the video is recorded while walking.

This camera’s waterproof/dustproof rating complies with the “IPX8” and “IP6X” ratings. Provided the care and maintenance guidelines described in the operating instructions are strictly followed, this camera can operate underwater, to a depth not exceeding 7 m (23 feet) for a time not exceeding 60 minutes. This does not guarantee waterproofing in all conditions.
Anti-shock Performance
This camera complies with “MIL-STD 810F Method 516.5-Shock”. The camera has cleared a drop test from a height of 1.5 m (5 feet) onto 3 cm (0.1 feet) thick plywood. In most cases this camera should not sustain any damage if dropped from a height not exceeding 1.5 m (5 feet). “MIL-STD 810F Method 516.5-Shock” is the test method standard of the U.S. Defense Department, which specifies performing drop tests from a height of 122 cm (4 feet), at 26 orientations (8 corners, 12 ridges, 6 faces) using 5 sets of devices, and passing the 26 orientation drops within 5 devices. (If failure occurs during the test, a new set is used to pass the drop orientation test within a total of 5 devices) Panasonic’s test method is based on the above “MIL-STD 810F Method 516.5-Shock”. However, the drop height was changed from 122 cm (4 feet) to 150 cm (5 feet) dropping onto 3 cm (0.1 feet) thick playboard. This drop test was passed. (Disregarding appearance change such as loss of paint or distortion of the part where drop impact is applied.) This does not guarantee no destruction or no malfunction in all conditions.
